About the Alliance Française de Santa Rosa (AFSR)

AFSR is an affiliate of the Foundation Alliance Française and operates as an independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization, registered with the IRS as eligible to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions as a public charity. Our EIN is is 68-0159454. We are constituted in accordance with the statutes and aims of the Alliance Française founded in Paris in 1883. The Santa Rosa chapter has been operating since 1988.

The purpose of our organization is to promote French culture and the study of the French language in Sonoma County and surrounding areas, to gather together those who desire to contribute towards developing understanding and enjoyment of French language and culture, and on a larger scale, to foster greater friendship and mutual understanding between the United States and France and French-speaking countries by encouraging linguistic and cultural exchanges.

There is no need to speak French to participate! Our teaching and organized events are complemented by a rich array of public programs (most in English), our library, and a community of welcoming like-minded individuals.

AFSR has no political or religious affiliations, and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender expression, age, national origin, disability, marital status, or sexual orientation in any of its activities or operations.
