Tutoring
  • Tutoring includes private classes, semi-private classes and classes for members of an immediate family.
  • Private lessons are one on one, semi-private lessons are for two students, and we offer special rates for the members of an immediate family.
  • Tutoring is tailor-made to suit small groups or individuals.

Instructors may not tutor for AFSR in their own homes.

Cost
Private

Private lessons are one on one and ongoing. Sessions are one month (4 or 5 lessons with a 3-lesson minimum paid in   advance). We charge $45.00/hour for tutoring at the Alliance. The cost is $55.00/hour if the teacher travels to the students (within a 20-mile radius of the Alliance) to defray transportation costs for the teacher***.

 Semi-private

Semi-private lessons are offered to two students. Sessions are one month (4 or 5 lessons with a 3 lessons minimum) paid in advance: $25.00ea / hour at the Alliance or $30.00ea / hour if the teacher travels to the students (within a 20-mile radius of the Alliance) to defray transportation costs for the teacher***.

 Family Rates

Semi-private lessons, immediate family rate: Sessions are one month (4 or 5 lessons with a 3 lessons minimum) paid in advance: $60.00 / hour total for a maximum of 4 family members at the Alliance or $70.00 / hour total if the teacher travels to the students (within a 20-mile radius of the Alliance) to defray transportation costs for the teacher***.

Advanced Placement

Advanced Placement: $50.00 per hour due to our instructor’s specialized expertise and $60.00 if the teacher travels to the students (within a 20-mile radius of the Alliance) to defray transportation costs for the teacher*** .                                  Please click here for more info.

***On occasion, the instructor and the student live closer to each other than they do the Foyer. In such circumstances, and since the instructor does not have to be reimbursed for traveling expenses, the student will not be asked to pay an additional $10.00 for off-site tutoring.
