Policies
Group, AP and Children’s classes
- All those registered for classes must have current membership in AFSR. Please see the rates.
- Overall, our classes average 4 students per class with a maximum of 8 students.
- When overall numbers permit it, we allow 3 students per class.
- Registration in any class will be taken in the order received until a maximum of 8 students has been reached.
- All classes must be paid for the whole session at the latest on the first day of class (We prefer checks. We do not accept cash).
- AFSR will prorate a maximum of 2 classes if a student informs the teacher of missed classes before the session begins.
- AFSR will not prorate for missed classes other than what has been specified in # 6. When possible, students can make up classes when arrangements have been made in advance with the teachers concerned. Make-up classes must be taken during the session already paid by the student. Credit is not allowed for missed classes, and they cannot be applied to other sessions. All sessions must be paid in full at registration.
- Students must pay for books at the time of registration. Books are not returnable nor are they refundable. See School Books page for more information.
Tutoring (private, semi-private and families)
- All those registered for classes must have current membership in AFSR. Please see the rates.
- Sessions last one month (or 3 classes minimum), with the exception of Christmas and summertime when we need more flexibility.
- All classes must be paid for the whole session at the latest on the first day of class (We prefer checks, no cash).
- AFSR does prorate for tutoring, and make-up classes are available for private and families at everyone’s convenience but only if notice is given 24 hours in advance. If the teacher is ready to teach the class and students do not show up, we do not offer make-up classes or reimbursements.
- Make-up classes for semi-private lessons are available when both students and the instructor agreed to postpone the scheduled class at least 24 hours ahead of time.
- Students must pay for books at the time of registration. Books are not returnable, and they are not refundable. Available from your instructor.
As a matter of interest, adults might want to take the French Placement Test.
