“Sonoma County Bastille Day Bash 14 Juillet Fête” Sunday, July 14, 2019

12:00 p. m. – 4 p.m.  Doyle Park, 700 Doyle Park Dr., Santa Rosa

Let your ‘inner French’ come out and play! — Come celebrate everything French at “Sonoma County’s Bastille Day Bash – 14 Juillet Fête”between Noon and 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 14th.  This multi-generational community celebration in the style ‘à la française’ is FREE to the public, and will be held at Doyle Park in Santa Rosa. This community event is co-produced by the Santa Rosa French-American Charter Schooland the Alliance Française of Santa Rosa.

The afternoon will include lively accordion, jazz and French style musical entertainment from various artists. French games, children’s activities, and sing-alongs of French songs will add to the festivities for the young at heart, no matter what age. Friendly games and face painting will be available to enjoy.

The ‘fête’ (party/celebration) will be a fun and casual picnic atmosphere, with guests encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, shade umbrellas, water, and their own picnic lunch, if desired.  French restaurant vendors such as Bistro 29 will be serving a variety of menu options for purchase, from classic savory galettes and sweet crêpes, to salads. A selection of French wines, lemonade, and iced tea will also be available for purchase.

With French natives, French language learners, and children from the Santa Rosa French-American Charter School present, one can be assured there will definitely be French spoken at the Sonoma County Bastille Day Bash 14 Juillet! Oui –“On Parle Français Ici” —  Yes — “French is spoken here in Sonoma County”! Come for the French food, wine, French songs, French games, French friends, and rousing rounds of singing France’s national hymn “La Marseillaise.”
