Bienvenue à l’Alliance Française de Santa Rosa !

The Alliance Française de Santa Rosa is a non-profit-making corporation, and constituted in accordance with the statutes and aims of the Alliance Française founded in Paris in 1883. The Santa Rosa chapter has been operating since 1988.

The purpose of this organization is to promote French culture and the study of the French language in Sonoma County and surrounding areas, to gather together those who desire to contribute towards developing understanding and enjoyment of French language and culture, and on a larger scale to foster greater friendship and mutual understanding between the United States and France and French-speaking countries by encouraging linguistic and cultural exchanges.

The organization operates as a franchise of the Foundation Alliance Française and has no political or religious affiliations and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender expression, age, national origin, disability, marital status, or sexual orientation in any of its activities or operations.

The primary focus of the organization:

    • Disseminate French or Francophone cultural material in written or audio-visual form through the provision of appropriate facilities such as libraries and online resources
    • Organize activities such as causeries, film and book clubs, special cultural events and presentations, and study trips to French-speaking countries
  • Support the teaching of the French language in educational institutions 


We are recruiting new members to the current Board of Directors, seeking those who would enjoy making a positive contribution to the most established non-profit organization promoting French culture and French language North of San Francisco.
