in Sonoma: Translating Le Malade Imaginaire

Scott Hornstein will give his lecture in French at 7 pm on Thursday
February 11 at Vista del Lago Recreation Room, 3150 Lakeview Drive, Santa
Rosa, CA 95405.
This is a prelude to a series of events around
the performance of The Imaginary Invalid at
Sonoma State University in late March.

Scott Hornstein was formerly Manager
of Play Development for Cornerstone
Theater Company and Literary Director
for the Black Dahlia Theater. Numerous
freelance dramaturgy credits include Denver Center, Oregon
Shakespeare Festival, Berkeley Rep, and the Old Globe, where
he dramaturged for Arthur Miller on his penultimate play Resurrection
Blues. He has directed at Native Voices, East West Players,
and the West
Coast Ensemble, and taught at SCR, AADA, AMDA, and UCSD. MFA
in Dramaturgy from UCSD. |
French
Language, Culture and Cuisine
Immerse yourself in all things French in this
class which combines French cuisine, culture,
conversation and language learning. French instructors Julia
Fornage and Carol Stone, along with Chef Christine Piccin
will take you on a delicious tour of the French countryside,
helping you learn and chat in French while you cook a meal reflecting
the cuisines of the French provinces. There will be language
fun and games, new vocabulary, culinary demos, and
lots of opportunity for conversational practice
in a relaxed environment. Then everyone
will sit down together to enjoy the recipes
you’ve created. This interactive,
hands-on class will run six Thursday evenings,
Feb. 4-Mar.11, from 5:30-9:15 PM at SRJC’s
Culinary Arts Center at the Brickyard. Students
should have completed a beginning French
course. Class fee is $251. Call (707)
